Partners & Supporters

Our supporters donate wood and services to us, and we choose partners to whom we donate our funds. Learn about both.

Our Partners

At Wood for Water, we invest funds we raise in organizations with years of experience in providing the access to drinking water the communities need. We choose those that continue to help afterwards to ensure the project continues to help the community.

We research potential partners and evaluate them based on how well they satisfy the criteria we’ve established. The organization will use our funds effectively and build self-sufficiency in the recipient communities, with clean water available equitably.

Cova has been our partner since 2021. They have been providing clean drinking water solutions since 2008 in communities in Central America, where 85% of the people lack this access. Cova is impressive in their strategies to make sure folks in the community can maintain their systems and their ongoing connection with each community.

Charity: water is an exceedingly well-run charity so some of our donations in 2019 and 2020 went to them. They will in turn use 100% of the funds to provide sustainable, community-owned water projects and teach healthy sanitation practices.

Our Supporters

All the wood we use has been donated. We're grateful for our supporters who donate lumber, products, services and give us inspiration.

Special thanks to two fine woodworkers, generous lumber donators & very supportive friends, Dexter and Fred.

Thanks to Suzanne for her encouragement, support and always willingness to help in any way.

Not only known nationally as one of the finest places to get fantastic lumber, they immediately donated wood to us. I can’t wait to plane it & see what I uncover.

A goal of Wood for Water is to partner with local schools. The Technical College High Schools (TCHSs) of the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Pennsylvania are exceptional schools where the teachers and all the staff get to know and guide the students. In 2019 when Wood for Water first started the TCHS Brandywine Campus donate planed wood. In 2020 we partnered with the TCHS Pickering Campus Carpentry program and the students demonstrated their expertise by making beautiful cutting boards which they donated to Wood for Water. The Graphic Arts program edited the cards that we give with each item purchased, adding a new level professionalism. TCHS Pickering Campus generously allowed us to have a table at their open house for our first event of 2020. These are absolutely schools with heart. The COVID-19 worldwide pandemic interrupted our plans to partner with other school carpentry programs, but we most certainly plan to work on that when the schools are able.
Special Event at TCHS Pickering Campus. Carpentry students donated products they made, Graphic Communication students donated cards they designed and printed.
